  1. These pictures make me think of how young these boys are. The pictures relate to the story because there are people on trenches and young boys. In the second photo it shows all the boys together and its shows conradship and brotherhood. The last photo looks like there are dead people everywhere and thats what i would think it would look like after the bombardment. The coulds in the fourth photo look like the aftermath of the bombs going through the air.

  2. when i look at these pictures it makes me feel sad of wat these military trrops have to go through. They have to go through war and many of them died because of this. It would make me feel very sad if I had someone who had to go in the military because I would be very worried and hope that they eould not die. These photos relate to the situations and events in the story we are reading because in the book we are reading the men have to go through a lot and many of them are dieing and they are sad because they feel like being in the military has ruined their lives. The first picture reminds me of when Hammelstoss was hiding in the corner and wouldnt move bcause he was very frightened. The last picture reminds me of when in the book most of the men were gettn sick and suffering and were starting to die.

  3. When I look at these pictures I think of overwhelming sadness. Think of families missing their loved ones at war. The dead bodies in the dirt makes me think of sickness. They're rotting in the ground, decaying in the sun. It's gross. These pictures relate to the story we are reading because the book is about a German soliders in the war. People in the book have already died just like the people in the pictures. The last two pictures made me think of one scene in the novel because Kat kept repeating bombardment. For some reason I thought of that. The first picture reminded me of the trenches. The third to last picture made me think of the all the main characters standing together.

  4. I think of terror but at the same time enjoyment. Soliders had to go into the war at a very young age and they don't get to enjoy still being a kid or young adult growing up. They don't get to go to college or hang out with friends and just be normal. But at the same time soliders did enjoy meeting new people making new friends. Even in the hard times their friends pulled them through it. When they were fighting in the trenches because that is how Paul and the rest of the Second Company along with the enemies and everyone else in the war fought in their battles. When they are smiling in a picture that reminds me of when they play games and joke around with each other to get the war out of their heads. The picture or bones with the helmets remind me of how they left the dead in no mans land to rot away and become nuthing but bones.

  5. When i look at these pictures i see sadness && happiness in a way! Sadness because of the dead bodies && some of the facial expressions on some of the men. I don't see exact happiness, it's more of just being proud. I haven't exactly been reading the book....so i don't know how it relates.

  6. i thinkn of hurt and pain. no matter what these guys went through they stood strong and fought hard!!in this story there was very young pliders and very old soliders and they all had to face the same things. my uncle went into the war and when he came back home he was a changed person and that bothered me. he was really hard and mean about everything. it was like he felt no pain no matter how bad he got hurt. in the war i amagine that they are not able to feel any pain because if they cary that around maby that will end up bad. in these picts they are very young and in some of them you can feel there pain. i would hate to go in to war but im soo thankful that these soliders go into it so i want have to!!!

  7. I think of the book that we are reading when i look at these pictures. These photos relate to the story we are reading because it shows young men in war, and that is what the whole book so far is about. A photo shows a bunch of dead bodies, and the characters describe that in the book. Another one is picture where it shows the men in the trenches, and that is how they are fighting in the book.

  8. When i look at these pictures think of death. i know that probably all of the soilders in these photos are dead and suffered a horrible death. This relates to the story we are reading, example, the photo of the men in the trench, this shows relation to how the men in the book were in the trench and how they had to suffer.

  9. The thing that I think about when I look at these pictures is playing call of duty on the gamecube and also how it must have been hard on the Germans throughout the war, and the hardships that they had to overcome. These photos relate to the situations and events in the story because they were going through the same thing because they had to get in trenches because of bombardments and a lot of soldiers had died. Another thing that these pictures relates to is that most of the people that died on the battlefield were left there and it shows up exactly the same way as in the book we are reading. One other thing that the pictures show is that most of the soldiers in the war were young just like the main characters in the novel.

  12. When talking about war, people usually are only concerned with the troops that fight for their own country. What people don't seem to realize, however, is that no matter what country you are from, we are all human beings. We all live in the same world and we are all neighbors to each other. Those men in the pictures are German soldiers, and they suffered just as much as we did, but for some reason we don't seem to care about them.

  14. Thes pictures really express what bad conditions the soldiers were in.These pictures of the trenches relate to what Paul and his recruits have to live in.In the story the enemys sent bombs into the trenches, killing many people like shown in the pictures. These pictures show that the remaining soldiers have to live with the dead, rotting others. Also these soldiers didn't have much food just like paul. These pictures also express how happy the soldiers were to fight for thier country.

  15. When I look at these pictures I think about the soldiers stuggling to survive the war.
These photos relate to the events that happen in the book for example the first picutre is soliders in trenches and thats how Paul and the troop are usally in bombardments. The fifth picture could be related to the book how most of the soliders were very young. The last picture could be when many soliders died for a direct hit in the trenches.

  16. When i look at these picture it give me an idea of what happens in war and i feel bad because all those soldiers have to go through that every day. i also look at these pictures and know that the soldiers familys are worrying every day if there loved one will be ok or not. These picture give me a better look at what the soldiers in the book are going throught because they are getting killed there friends are getting killed everyday. One of the senes that really stick out at me is when albert was scared because of what was all going on around him and he was one 16 years old that most be hard for him he is so young and he is probley not going to have a normal teenage life.

  17. My reaction was to think about the war in iraq. War is just really sad and depressing. The picture of the dead bodies makes me think of the second or third chapter when Kemmrich dies and the doctor acts like its just another death. The picture shows how many people actually could die in one spot. The pictures also remind me of the book were reading because the boys look so young.
